    What about a E46 330ci?

Hi I am seriously thinking of getting a brand new 2004 330ci black on black with either the 6spd or the SMG any comments or remarks are welcomed. I just wanna know what everyone here thinks of it. its the 2dr model, not the 4 dr performance pacage. What do u all think. For a fun car yet a daily driver? ;)

If you have the money go for it. Im not too fond of the newest e46s though.

    I bombed Korea every night.

e-throttle fucking blows donkey chode, and weight sucks if you're actually going to drive it hard. but for a daily driver, they're pimp as hell. I also think the newer headlights are hideous

I looked at 'em. Actually, I looked at a couple of pre-owneds. I could in no way justify the premium for the e46 over my Lexus is300. I love BMW, but for the money, it just was not a better car than what I got. Go to e46fanatics.com and lurk -- good place for info.

Great cars, parents have an e46 (325xi touring, along with an e30 m3) Great car, real nice handling with the sport package, I'd say it's better damped than the bilstein sports on the 'is. E-throttle takes a while getting used to, but it's not awful if you're used to smooth throttle inputs. Those of you that subscribe to the "on/off swtich" method of driving will hate it. Otherwise, it hasn't bugged me too much when driving it.

i drove a 330ci. very smooth, quiet, pimp. wouldn't really get anything that piggish to try and be a real performer, but I'd def get that or a 97+ 5 series for a daily driver in the near future, since I can't afford any newer awd bmw's

I lost all respect for non-M E46's when I DEE-STROYED the fastest of them (330iPP 6spd) through a carousel and onto a striaght section of interstate to 130+.

However, like Rob said, they are damn sexy cars and look especially sweet when lowered with big wheels. A local friend of ours has a 330i, dumped on 18" RGR's. It is moving sex.

They are just really nice cars. They lack balls though.

I've driven from the 320iA to the 330i/6. The only E46's worth buying are the 99-00 models, the 328i and 323i. They had the heavier steering, the (mostly) mechanical throttle, and the least electronic bullshit. Plus, E46's just got uglier as time went on.

my family's had a 2000 323i 5speed and currently a 2002 330Ci steptronic. the 330 handles amazingly well, you can feel the extra weight but it has the same amount or less body roll and has about the same damping as my konis. the ethrottle is different on the M52's and M54's, i didnt mind it at all on our 323, but the new fully electronic throttle matched with a auto tranny really takes alot of fun out of driving the 330. i deffinately want to get a e46 later on as a second car, but thats a long ways away

I drive them daily at work. A 330i 4 door would make the ultimate daily driver. All 3 tranmissions are excellent. The automatic is the best I've ever driven. The 6 speed is usual BMW fun. The SMG is just straight up tits. If it were me, I'd go for a 330i 4 door with the sport/premimum package and SMG.
