Tell me about the Alpina shift knob sticker. The original Alpina insert in my Alpina knob exploded last summer in the heat , it is hard plastic with a decal on the bottom showing through, is yours the same ?

sadly no! i've been looking to recreate one, and the closest i have got so far is this. it is a domed badge in resin, like the wheel badges i do. as it is only about 1mm thick and the alpina one is a bit thicker, you might need something behind it (a suitably sized coin?) to keep it elevated to be flush with the wood. i have not yet experimented as i don't have an alpina gear knob, but someone fitted one and was pretty happy....especially compared to an exploded one, you should be ok! this one is 32mm in diameter and the print quality is excellent unlike the ones found on ebay. the inks are also UV protected so will not fade! as far as i know, the original badges are NLA...if someone knows otherwise, please let me know ;)
