Well that's cool. A kinda of unique way to show it off for sure, instead of an obscure blog or what not.

hey, i saw your last 10 or so auctions for this piston. i have to say that i admire your tenacity. however, if you do decide to get serious about selling it, i would be in the market for 200.00.

    thank you for your time

i expected he would tell me to go screw myself but after a few days, he responded:

Hello Brian! Tenacity? Hmmm...I just want to let the world see the piston, to enjoy it, relish in it. I just thought because of the RUSH movie, people might appreciate seeing a bit of James Hunt historical F1 memorabilia. I don't plan to sell it. I have had it for 35 years and won't mind holding onto it for another 35. I have done some research on F1 car parts and driver apparel. Small autographed F1 memorabilia, like pistons, steering wheels, gloves, helmet visors and similar items are selling for $2,000 to $5,000. If I was serious about selling my piston, I would probably price it in that range. The reason for the 5 mil price tag is so that nobody will bid on it. Now if some mega rich Hollywood celebrity or high dollar F1 driver wanted to pay me the 5 mil for the piston, I would be crazy to not accept their money! Thanks for your interest.

But I saw this auction I figured some people here would get a kick out of it. I don't think people on garage forums would care as much.

They couldn't possible care about you as much as we do.

You're one of us. You can go elsewhere, associate with different people or deny our existance, but man, you're a R3v'er through and through and you always will be. The sooner you come to terms with it, the better off you'll be.

You gotta accept that shit and wear it. Own that shit. You're a R3v'er and you might just be that r3v'r who didn't think that men paid child support to women they weren't married to, but dammit you're our R3v'er, and we'll always be here for you.
