This. OP, you do realize that wider /= more grip, right? It's more surface area, so it will take longer to get up to temp, but will shed heat quicker (may be important if it's a trackcar, but there is a 'right' size here, too wide and they won't get up to optimal temp) but otherwise it will have the same Cf of any other tire of the same compound, regardless of size. A majority of the E36 brake setups yield a relatively poor brake balance on an E30. Massive BBK is the way to go on an E30, engineering & balance is already done for you.

not sure why you had a different result.

it's okay though; i'm happy with my setup whether or not some random dude on the internet approves of it.

Never said I didn't approve of it-- I'm running the same suspension on my car........

I just thought the E34 style 5s with 205s that didn't rub around town- but did rub on the Ring, didn't look so nice from the rear on my car. I just wish that an ET20 or so wheel with a 8,5 inch width would fit better was all I was saying.

I did mine because I found cheapish M-Systems and cheap E30 M3 suspension. Missing calipers and one rear hub, but mostly complete for like $250. Sold the control arms for $200 and bought the calipers and carriers used.

I can't have more than $1000 into the swap including endlinks, new control arms and bushings, rotors/pads, etc. And less than $800 into the staggered M-Systems (9j rears).

Also did it because fuh raze stance car.

great, but you still need to come up with calipers, brackets, and rotors from an E30 M3.

I came to the conclusion a long time ago......................

5 lug swap with e36 stuff SUX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
you cannot even put cool wheels on the car, unless your going to run super high offset e36 wheels (which there aren't that many to choose from)

best I could find with a little bit of width was 8.5" Corvette wheels that still clear front coilovers.

    fixed that for you

You have to run a minimum of 15-18mm Adapters/spacers I believe, or it will rub the inside strut, It will rub if your low enough, I had Eibachs and shit rubbed on every bump. And eibachs are not low either, HR Race would for sure rub.

I like the 4- lugs, as I can use the same wheels as I do on the 2002's.

Plus, why bother? It's not Pro3 legal anyway!

    heh

For some reason i'm reading this as you can just install e30 m3 hubs onto a regular e30 trailing arm (86+)
