    Static vs bagged???

Nothing beats the slammage of being bagged, but nothing beats the performance of being static.

What would you choose? and why?

Thread got closed for no reason what so ever. I'm sorry to whom ever closed the thread but that isn't right that just because you think a thread is dumb to close it. The guy wanted opinions from people and I think he has a right to that.

I don't think we're talking about a guy who wants a setup for tracking. He obviously likes being low and versatility of bags are probably for him. And yes you can do a manual bag setup for ~$900 and it handles similar to a gc setup

Please stop spreading such gross misinformation around the internet. Bags will not handle like Ground Control Coilovers, end of story.

Have you ridden in a bag setup? Because otherwise you're talking out of your ass.

            thanks for catching my back^^^

but honestly tho, who ever said e30s were only for track?? i think e30s can be a track car, and a car for looks as well. if i wanted to track my car (which one day i would like to) then yeah maybe i would go static. i didnt mean to get this thread all heated up, i just was curious on everyones opinions.

Exactly. Not everyone uses their car for track days. I don't think you can say that bags are dumb just because you think that e30s shouldn't be slammed in general. And while bags may not handle exactly like gcs, they handle very well and can be compared to a gc setup. But that's besides the point. If you want to be low, bags are the way to go IMO.

Bags vs static has been covered and beaten to death on just about any forum out there. Do a google search.

Congrats, you made the same thread that was closed by someone that manages here. *Hoping it was Janderson <3

My vert is bagged, My coupe has a very nice gc setup.

They both handle great, they both ride great. Having bags is very convenient. I recommend it to anyone if you have the means. I run a custom airlift setup with autopilot v2 management.

Also you're going to have a bad time if you only spent $900 on a bag setup. All said and done I have around $3500 into mine.

Being straight honest I think no one can speak on bag vs coils unless you have had both and even then its a still an opinion, so...... in my opinion its more about your style bags make sense cause you can be low and not have nightmares about speedbumps and potholes, but on the other side I know static guys and they all believe bags are cheating and you have to be low all the time. In the same boat are those idiots that think shattering oil pans and taking 20 min to get out of the drive way are badges of honor. So debating is just endless, like trying to argue whether red or blue is a better color.

That was an E30 specific opinion above yours there...

I am a tech. I have ridden, and driven just about every suspension system available. I make a good living replacing bags on modern BMWs actually...

The two setups are completely different and you cannot say they handle the same. They might (if done well) handle well for their specific applications but that's the point: they're different setups.

Lowering a car for improved aerodynamics, a lower center of gravity and better handling is cool. Slamming it to roll around with all the VW emotwats is dumb. Maybe I'm old but I like not dragging over things on my way to work...
