your car was one of 10 produced in that serial # range. :)
Cool thanks, do you have production dates on there or just vin numbers?

And what does 1 of 10 in that range mean? they rolled off the factory the same day?

what's your serial#? there's a # of cars produced in 11/85, but many of them are one offs with their own line item under the serial #s.
Interesting, I am curious to know where you found that information. Isn't it something like 36,800 ever produced?

Here is mine. It still has the taurusrot interior with rear headrests, metric spare and m tech steering wheel. The windshield is cracked badly so I will have to replace, even if it is the insulating glass.

Possibly this car used to promote the iX:

A few more were made until it appears production started for official sales, like you said, in 5/85, with car number 5.

That puts mine as official number 312. So maybe not the first month of production, but pretty early still. I guessed on the vin numbers for the iX, I wonder how hard it would be to guess for the rwd e30s?

Oh, and the best thing about non-power windows is...

You never have to wonder if the window breaker switch is on, or if your window switch just broke.

TBH, until I got this car, I didn't know there were unpowered rack and pinion setups out there. I like the lack of everything.
I'm in the same boat I had no idea that car had a manual rack until recently, all that's getting swapped on my eta why is it more awesome to have an "unloaded" car in the e30 world lol

Considering the 325ix was not sold in American until 1987, I believe it is one of the earliest iX's to exist, let alone still be around and in the US. It came with motronic 1.0 (35 pin ecu) and has this oxygen sensor unit that was retrofitted since it came to the states to be federalized. It had the high compression 9.7:1 pistons and taurus red leather sport interior. Electric Windows, sunroof, power mirrors, iS rear spoiler, and rear headrests. It also has rear arm rest with ski pass through, AC and Cruise control. It has the early model front end with two tow hooks and a 5 speed manual.

It has the 3 speed vent fan rather than 4 and front and rear fog lights. I am in the process of getting it back together as a 3 liter stoker so it can get back on the road. Also changing a few things here and there as a personal touch. Not sure if I should modify the suspension or not.
