    Mountain Bikers...

Who in here mountain bikes(in season) at least once a week? Got any pics of your rides, or just tell us what you are riding on. Here is a pic of mine.

Specialized Rockhopper. Manitou Sx fork. Avid v-brakes. Nothing special at all, except my favorite part the Primo platform pedals. They kick ass!!! But of course I have to where my shin guards when I use them because the grind my shin so bad. I have way to many scars from bike pedals on my shins!!!

same bike in my garage. where it's been for the last two month since I got my e30 :P

I really like the bike though. I'm a complete mountain bike novice, and it works well for me in whatever I used it for, commuting, playing in the mud, whatever....

      Here's mine:

It's a five year old 6500. I gave it Avid Single Digit Ti brakes, Shimano 858 pedals, Ground Control handlebar, Airborne bar ends, the front wheel is a Mavic X517 rim with a Shimano XT hub. Everything else is stock

I haven't ridden trails much lately but I ride it every day during the summer to stay in shape.

sweet! I can dig it. similar to my bike, but clipless. i despise clipless mostly because i do more freeriding/trials riding. best place by me is called "vietnam" or "nam" for short. it is basically a freeriding mecca here. the best part is the Eastern Fat Tire Association just bought the land it was on because it was going to be destroyed. Trail conservation at its best!!!

There's not much freeriding going on here in the midwest, we just ride what singletrack we can find. There's a real nice place a couples hours north of me in Wisconsin called Kettle Moraine where they actually have hills!

            Here is my ride
            Sorry about the huge picture

It's a 2000 Voodoo Bokor, they went out of business a year or two ago, and they weren't a big company, they just made race bikes, so i don't know if any of you know of them. I race XC, and i don't know if you guys have heard of the NORBA Nationals, but there is one series at snow summit, which i raced in 2 years ago. Recently Mtn biking has kinda gone in the dumps, and the big sponsors are flaking, so i heard they don't even have a big nationals series anymore. But now that i have a car, i haven't been racing much.

VooDoo went out of business? I almost bought a custom bke from them about 5 years ago. Damn, that sucks they were a cool company.

Yeah, races are awesome. I have only done a few XC, and one DH. Both were fun, but I am not good enough to compete really. Mt.Snow downhill is insane, and that is why NORBA races are sometimes held there!!! So much fun!!!

I thought about getting a VooDoo back when I was looking at bikes. I've raced once, XC, I might do it again next year if I have time. Nice bike by the way, I wanted Thompson stuff back when i cared enough

bwanac, have you heard anything about the NORBA series, my friend said they stopped televising it, and there like isn't enough money in the sport so some pros quit and stuff, i hope the sport isn't going downhill. I'm bumbed because it is so much fun.

No have not heard much. Dont pay to much attention to biking in the off-season because my attention is more on school and my car. I hope it does not go more downhill than it has, there has already been some major "bummerness".

Here is my current ride 2003 Marin East Peak

I love the way it rides, No bobbing on the climbs and it is 26lbs. Only thing is the front shock sucks of course that is after having ridden a Marzoochi on my last ride

But the 98 Schwinn S-carbon frame wasn't up to the added stress of the Marzoochi and cracked under the head tube. Schwinn was going to warrenty it but it was right after they went Bankrupt and Pacific purchased them. So i would of gotten a crappy frame.
There is a trail system for the local college right behind my house so I go riding at least once a week.
