I just got the opportunity on Sunday to drive an R8, this thread is to partially show off and to genuinely see peoples opinions and who's driven an R8

I have, back in 2008 a friend of mine's dad had just gotten one and took it to PIR. It was the 4.2L v8 model though :/
Can't say i was very impressed. I had higher expectations...

I've had the pleasure of driving one as well as many other audis. Out of them all, the RS6 was by far the funnest of them all.

I drove the V8 as well. It was the 2nd R8 I drove and it was plenty fast. Don't know if the hp has changed since 2008 but V10 I drove at Chuck Walla was a blast but I honestly liked the v8 better. Probably because it was on the street haha

I drove the V10 with the SMG or whatever they call their automatics... I was not impressed. My landlord has the V8, got it twin turbod and it is making 550 iirc to the wheels now.

I feel like a V8 R8 is an attainable "dream car" in the next 10 years for me.

I drove the V8 as well. It was the 2nd R8 I drove and it was plenty fast. Don't know if the hp has changed since 2008 but V10 I drove at Chuck Walla was a blast but I honestly liked the v8 better. Probably because it was on the street haha

I mean it was definitely fast, but i was expecting lot more. Its a 420hp motor, same as the B7 RS4 car had.
There was a twin turbo 350z on the track that day, it passed us a few times...that probably didn't help the perception.

Haha oh man that kinda sucks. My dad is a trainer for Audi of America so I was also fortunate enough to drive a S4, S5, S6, S7, S8, R8, TTRS, And TTS all on Chuck Walla. So the Audi brand is bred in deep in my family, the look on his face when I drove home in an E30 one day was priceless. But I'd love to take an R8 out again haha. I mean who wouldn't?

Yeah, i owned a B5 A4 quattro for a few months. The electrical problems i had with that car never want me to own an Audi again.
