    New here, have some questions

Aight so im only 16 and been wanted a e30 as my first car for a long time, i finally got one and decided to start at the most basic performance wise and bought a 318 and work my way up as i plan to do a m20b25 swap once i save money working in the summer. So i dont know much about the car but i believe its a 87 318 something i dont know its definitely euro though since their is some stuff written in German in a panal behind the rear view mirror and it has a wide license plate in the back. Its a coupe too! so to start i got the car and the heater made a sharp winding noise and didn't blow that good. Got it fixed by connecting something properly behind the firewall wear the fan is. The power steering is broken when im parked it takes batista to turn the wheel so i think im gunna buy a new power steering pump. When i try to hit the rev limiter i get the grinding noise in the transmission as if i didnt push in the clutch when im flooring it in 1st or 2nd or something but i dont want to shift! so i guess no more high revs for now. umm I need new rims planning on getting bbs rs their like 700$ over here. Oh yeah and i got a weird instrument panel i got a clock instead of a tachometer :/ gas meter dont work at least the orange light works signaling that i need to fill it up works though and the speedometer doesnt work sometimes either. So basiclly to sum this up i was wondering how hard is it to replace the instrument cluster and if that transmission noise in the high revs is the synchros. thanks guys i chose this forum over all the others because it seems like the coolest and has the best tech articles see ya!

If it was 87 it would have metal bumpers. Unless PO swapped the bumpers to plastic. If you open your driver side door there should be a label that will give you a date that it was produced + other good information. Taking the cluster out isn't hard at all. There are write ups for everything you have listed. There is a whole forum dedicated to that. More pics would be cool. Welcome to r3v and the e30 community!
