    Yeah i'd low ball him and snag it. rare model with that engine! i know a dude who turbocharged his and did a buncha smokey burnouts.

    if you lived in California, it'd be hot shit.

    all the volvo guys would be scrambling to buy it so that they could throw out the diesel motor and swap in a nutty turbo-non-legal powerplant.

      I bought a petrol wagon like this at a garage sale... Great running car, except the floorboards were rusted out. The amazing thing is that the carpet still kept the integrity of the floor even without metal... I didn't walk on it, but my kids did.

        Yeah if it's there next week I'll wave a few hundos in his face. It needs a safety inspection but the owner seems to be pretty anal about upkeep and it would probably pass, plus I work at a dealership so that shouldn't be too big of a hurdle.

            So parts for any early 240 would work on this then? like brakes and suspension?

              That V6 diesel was not a good engine. Nobody liked it, and it didn't last like it should have. That's why so many were swapped with the small block Ford kit.

              And yeah, 240 stuff is mostly interchangeable. I think people sought out the heavier diesel front springs for V8 swaps.

                there was never such animal as a v6 diesel offered in any volvo. v6? yes, diesel inline 6, yes, but not both.

                These things are a b*tch to find parts for (since they are so rare), and because the powerplant wasn't reliable (similar to the pvr pos V6 offered in the 262 and bertone series).

                IF you want an old reliable diesel, just stick with an old mb w124 or 123, if you hold out long enough, you can find a diesel wagon too
                If it's got tits or tires, it's gonna cost ya!

                  I just want it for a few months because it's cheap and my touring is down for motor swap that keeps giving me headaches right now. Ugh I dunno I'll probably go see it this weekend.

                    He's totally right, I screwed up. V6 sucked, diesel wasn't great.

                      ya you can get pretty much everything you want for the car from any other 240/old volvo.
                      and correct - v6 = 180hp PRV deloreoan/peugeot/volvo/renault engine
                      diesel = straight 6 vw unit d24
