As its been mentioned above, the big plus with ITB's is the deletion of reversion pulses affecting the airflow into other cylinders.
When building power in a n/a engine, you build the engine as a whole. Intake, compression, cam, exhaust etc should all work together.
Having said that RHD (www.racehead.com.au) here in Sydney just did a back to back dyno comparison with stock intake VS ITB setup, with good gains everywhere.
