    Threads old but posting anyway lol

    The 340 would be punched out to a 408, though actually I could bore it all the way out to a 440. Reason behind that choice? I don't want an ls motor and a British sports car with a Ford motor, well as I said, that's called the (A/C)/Shelby Cobra. And a good bit of these things that are now V8s are LS motor cars, so if I'm looking for something pretty unique, then LS motors are the devil.

    I don't see why a 340 build is a bad choice anyway. The 340 sure as hell kicked ass in the 1/8 mile back in the day. Yeah its cast iron and heavy as the Titanic, but like I said, add a big fuel cell in the rear and the Ford 9 bolt, and i mean the weight balance is probably what? 70-30, 60-40? Of course, if I really cared about the weight balance being really really good, I'd just go get a 4G63t and make 400 hp in 3.5 seconds. I suppose that would add to a relatively untouched genre of a little British car with a cute little Jap 4 banger that chucks out massive hp. It's weigh like 2400 lbs, or less, and scary to actually drive because it would be a bolt of lightning if you could ever get traction >:D

    Another car Ive considered doing it to (speaking of Jensen) is a Jensen-Healey. Big brother Interceptor got a Chrysler 383 or 440. Handling supposedly like a double-decker but it out-accelerated the Astons, Jags,ect. of the day. The thing about the JH is.. you almost feel bad wanting to screw with its engine. Its a DOHC Lotus sourced motor, one of, if not the FIRST multi-valve management systems available in a production car. The little thing makes like 140-some bhp, and can about match a stock E30 b25 for acceleration off the line.
