    Engine Harness Firewall Grommet

    Hey peeps...

Question for you... does anyone know what the part number is for the rubber grommet that's on the firewall for the ecu/engine harness to pass through?

    Can't find it on realoem.

That is because the grommet is part of the harness.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

The junkyard is the path. Few years ago some guys here were jonesing for these - I chopped three harnesses @ pick-n-pull and sent the grommets to Blunt...

Anyone know the best way to incorporate the e30 grommet into a 24v harness? The only way I see it being possible is re-pinning the ecu connector.

You can just cut it and then either glue back or leave it cut, not a big deal IMHO

Fill the hole with expanding foam, then paint it black...

This is what I ended up doing after wrestling with the grommet for way too long trying to pry it over the 24v connector.

Very poor choice, it holds water which is not good with wiring/possibility of future rust.
