    BMW 2 Series!

BMW "passes the 2002 torch" to the new 2 series. Big shoes to fill! Any thoughts?

Isn't it supposed to be FWD?

No torch to pass. Just toss it in the car and let it fucking burn.

interesting. Do you think it's a "passing of the torch" because of the promotional photo on their website?

I thought only the active tourer was FWD. The regular coupe is still RWD isn't it?

Isnt the naming model they're using now odd numbers for 4 door, even for 2.

So like the 3 and 4 series is the same car, just sedan / coupe. Pretty sure its the same with the 1 and 2 now as well. 1 is a 5 door and 2 is a 3.

If it wants to be a new 2002, it'll have to sell for either side of $30k, be small, simple, easy to work on, very reliable, not overly powerful but peppy enough to have a good time, have access to a pretty large aftermarket...and use a steering box.

As a long time 2002 owner, uh, no.

It weighs 50% more than a 2002 and is the same size as an E36 !

Prob not a bad car, but not a new 2002.

I like the 1 series a lot more, though.
