Why do you need an inspection? The e30 can now be registered as historic which exempts you from emissions and any and all inspections.

      What he said.

Also, you can always get a "guy" to pass inspection.

FYI, Just because its historic does not exempt you from the safety inspection.

They check things like tire condition, brake pad/rotor condition, all lights working, horn works, good suspension & steering components, etc.

He needs a vehicle safety inspection which is a 1-time fee for any car you register in Maryland.

          Uh, no, you don't.

I registered my E30 Historic 7 months ago. No inspection required, just 5 minutes at Tag and Title place.

Maryland don't need any kind of inspection with historic tags. You ought to see some of the rolling scrap up this way with historics...

Yea this is incorrect unless you don't want to tag it with historic tags.

Tag it with historic tags and you should be in and out of a title shop within 5 mins. All you need is proof of insurance, and the title.

              No safety inspections required.

+1 on no inspection or emission testing. Got mine done when I first got it and never had to do anything.

So it appears I was wrong.

But, I assume that by registering your e30 as a Historic vehicle you are all following these rules:

"A vehicle registered as historic cannot be used for general daily transportation, or primarily for the transportation of passengers or property on highways. It can only be used in exhibitions, club activities, parades, tours, occasional transportation and similar uses."

I have two cars. If a cop stops me how are they going to know whether or not it is my occasional transportation day or not.

There usually aren't any questions and they send you on your way as normal.
