Thougts on this 89 325i

I have been looking around for an E30, I am in no hurry to buy one, I want to take my time and find the right one, but I want to get the experts thoughts on this one....

He is asking $2000, has 127,000 miles. I have asked him for more photos and info, but here is what he has told me..

No rust. Clearcoat is peeling. AC converted. I have had the car for seven years. Always maintained. A couple of little dings. Nothing major.

Timing belt and water pump have been changed out. Just had it smog tested yesterday, passed with no problem. And recently serviced.

From what little the ad says, its looks like a steal.

looks nice, unmolested. id buy it. the automatic makes it undesirable by most but it would still be a good DD.

$2000 was a great price back 10 years ago, it's sure a steal now... if it's in as good of an order as the seller is claiming. We don't need a 'just bought an e30 lemon' thread.

Thanks for the input, I am still waiting on more photos from the seller and answers to other questions. I have a shop lined up near him that can do a PPI if I decide to buy it.

I did find a local 91 325ix, but he is asking $5600, to me that is too much. Also found a 90 325i locally, asking $2500, but waiting for more photos and more history, it had an engine replacement and the odometer does not work, again he is asking $2500, prob too much.
