Posting pictures of broken wheels with the means of comparing them is the dumbest fucking thing in the world.

If this is directed at me, the point of my post flew right over your head. I don't see anyone comparing wheels here.

You guys realize that all wheels will break if you hit them hard enough, right? For DD, ESM's are perfect. Nothing wrong with them.

I don't even own this car anymore, but I'm too lazy to change the picture.

Seriously? You quoted Janderson's post of broken ESM 004's and posted pictures of broken BBS LM's. I took that as you saying "LOOK! Even real wheels break".

The point I was trying to make is that literally no one knows the exact circumstances of stress that these wheels went through to cause the failure so it is, quite literally, impossible to compare them.

Yes, seriously. And I agree with you completely.

Photos of broken wheels were posted with absolutely no information on what circumstances broke them. I did, however, assume that there was an insinuation inherent in that post.

In response, I posted the same exact thing. Pictures of broken wheels with absolutely no information on what broke them. My only point was to lightheartedly let the air out of the insinuation that a set of wheels are junk because we see a picture of a broken set. Posting other "low quality' reps would have contaminated the point. Posting the wheels these are modeled after seemed like the clearest statement. I guess not ;)

I'd personally love to know what the story is behind those broken ESM's.

I'm going with 99% driver error with all of the above wheel failures.

I've owned nothing but replica wheels my whole life and have never broken a set. If you know how to drive and avoid potholes, you'll be fine with reps. Again all depending on the circumstances, but I fully agree that for a DD, reps are fine. Unless you wanna be baller and spend the cash for the real thing.

For the OP, here's a set of staggered ESM002R's on my E30.

I think it also depends on the sidewall height of the tire as well.If you run a 30 to 40 sidewall height and hit a pothole, well good luck with bending, breaking wheels and blowing out tires. I have never ran anything less than 50 series sidewall height with legit wheels or rep's and have never had an issue's with blowout's or wheels breaking apart for the last 14 years now.
