I hear that! Was there rumblings of a 250hp motor? :D
That hatch is hot!, hotter than a Golf, much more, in my opinion. Not to mention it's RWD!
Would you trade in your 318ti for a 1 series hatch if it does come. I would if I were you. 8)

I think there was a rumor of making an "M1" with a Motorsport engine... but that's all it is: a rumor.
Last I heard, 1.8L and 2.0L 4cyl's were all the U.S. would ever get. Europe will probably get some cool turbo diesel or something... damn government here! They need to start letting German cars makers sell all their diesel models here. I wouldn't mind sporting a new BMW 1series and getting 40mpg.
you's are farkin crasee! its shaping up to look pretty nice ... the rumours i heard were a return to turbo for the M2 ... as long as this puppy weighs sweet FA, i'l be happy no matter what ... gime a lightweight body/chassis, peppy engine, and il be in fer sure.
Looks like the new Mazda 3 hatchback :?. Hopefully the coupes will look better than that.
Fo shizzle. I want the CS1 Vert. That with a turbo 4 banger would be SWEET!
Jarvis, its not our govts fault there are no turbo-deisels here. Its the fault of Merc and American truck manufacturers who built loud and smelly vehicles a few years back and hurt the image of oil burners.
VW has been brave enough to bring a bunch of TDI cars here and they have been slowly able to sell them. Get some more gas stations and car makers bringing clean quiet oil burners over and it could work.

But it's still up to the government to loosen up emissions regulations for diesels as compared to gas-powered cars. Just a little bit of slack would allow a ton of awesome foreign diesel cars to sell here... including BMWs. Unfortunately, that will probably never happen :( But I'm all for blaming Mercedes, GM, Ford and Dodge if you want!
Anyways, back to the 1-series...
I agree it looks like the new Mazdas, but "not that there's anything wrong with that".
Eh, what difference does it make. It's not like I'll ever be able to afford a brand new BMW (base model 1series or not) in the next few years anyways.
