differnences between eta and i intake.

alright guys besides the idle air control motor being on the intake mainfold on etas, whats the "actual" difference between manifolds, has anyone compared them side by side?

also, is there any difference between the eta valve cover and the i valve cover, besides the look?

    thanks alot

shorter fatter runners on the 325i intake. There isnt a port on the rear for the ICV but you can swap that rear cover to make it work if you wanted too.

The throttlebody is a crap load bigger. I had to remove a LOT of material to match it.

I had the 325i manifold on mine for a while but for some reason it wouldnt idle right (didnt see a leak) so I am now running the 325i throttlebody with a 325e manifold that has the inlet port cut to match.

Now the 325i manifold is just sitting in my basement since I have scrapped building a M20 stroker.
      Im now E30less.

hmm but the eta manifold has longer runners correct?
and longer runners, promote, better lower end torques. i assume porting a eta manifold would yeild the best torque gains...i assume ? anyone else have input?

          longer runners = tq
          short fat ones = hp

            torque is everything.

well its the main power of a car, torque gets it going, horsepower keeps it going, thats why your milage increases if you install a 4.10 diff, but it only increases in stop-gop traffic, but it decreases in highway. blah i'm rambling

I've compared today an Euro 84 i manifold and trottle body to an 87 there are also differences
There are much more vacuum connections on it
                  I didn't know that :?
maybe was that your problem Ryan S ?

nah I sealed off all the extra vac ports. I am still running the same 325i throttlebody but not the manifold.

I am not sure if the different ports were messing with airflow at the head or what but it wouldnt idle below 1000.
