Ive never understood why they put the s14 in that car but none others besides the m3.

It was for crazy taxes on engines with displacements larger than 2 liters in countries like Italy (idk if there were other countries with these same stipulations)

People wanted the M3 but didn't want to pay the insane premium for the 2.3L S14 so BMW put a 2.0L in this chassis.

Right, but why not use the wide-body then?

I'm not entirely sure.

If I were to speculate I'd say it's because BMW didn't want to alter the M3 (maybe for homologation reasons?) Plus, the 320is is lighter than the M3 so the drop in power wasn't a huge issue.

There wasn't much drop in peak power between the b23 and the b20, but area under the curve suffered.

To sum up: super cool car.

This guy spent TONS of money on it though at LJ independent which he's trying to recover.

Realistic market value? Well there really isn't one.

Although, you see 320is prices all across the board back in Europe.
Sorta similar to the prices of the e30 m3.

I personally would prefer to pick one up and ship it over myself.
He's making the whole CA BAR thing sound way worse that it is.
I know several dudes who've straight up imported Peugeots, Renaults, Citroens, etc...

I really wanna meet the owner of the blog/seller of the car though.
