Someone finally did it, a bagged e30 m3

That doesn't really answer his question as to 'are they really that bad'. Most race cars also do a whole lot of other things that a typical street car would never notice. They're definitely not the best, but it's much harder to answer to what extent they are worse. The first car I ever rode in was an e30

Yeah, finally! It's what an e30 M3 always neededComment

Lol trust me, I would never have any intention of putting bags on a race car. As stupid as it is to put bags on an e30 m3, I don't understand why everyone says it's handling will suck. I mean we're talking about a 25 year old suspension design. Will bags make it handle worse than that? If the cars intent is for cruising, I don't see the problem in it.

They handle better than the suspension setups 90% of people on here run. Would you put it in a race car? Hell no. This car isn't a race car though...Everybody that has run bags and a gc or bc coilover set up says bags handle better, so why not?Comment

Read up. I'm not starting a static vs. bags debate. Same shit always happens.Comment

While I agree that most air setups are mostly for show, I find it that An air suspension can have it's advantages on a track. With the press of a button, pressure can be inserted or released from the airbag providing different "spring rates". Also I've seen automatic suspensions that Pump air continuously during major cornering and such. On another note, that car came in 26th place because it was basically a street car taken to a track car event, iirc.Comment

I said it's not for racing...But for driving around it handles just as good. Not every e30 m3 is a race car. From stock suspension bags are an upgrade so stop acting like he ruined the car.

yes but as i have owned one. they are litterally only good at one thing. the engine is shit at idle, crap in traffic, makes you nauseous if driven @ 80mph for 4 hour. but up in the hills or canyons OMG amazing. the car handles better than you could ever imagine. 25 year old geometry or or not. an m3 on coilovers is better than any other e30 i've been in, and i've been in/owned a lot of them. then you go and bag it and all you get it a sexy honda civic. not a race car like it was intended to be.
buy an M3 and then tell me different after you've owned it for a while.Comment

I can respect that as I have never driven an m3. All I have been saying is from a comparison of non-m3 models. That said, I would be curious to get some feedback from the owner on how it handles since in reality nobody can compare the two suspensions since no body else has bagged one.yes but as i have owned one. they are litterally only good at one thing. the engine is shit at idle, crap in traffic, makes you nauseous if driven @ 80mph for 4 hour. but up in the hills or canyons OMG amazing. the car handles better than you could ever imagine. 25 year old geometry or or not. an m3 on coilovers is better than any other e30 i've been in, and i've been in/owned a lot of them. then you go and bag it and all you get it a sexy honda civic. not a race car like it was intended to be.

It's not ruined if bags can be removed. As is though, it is ruined. Only a CF wrapped CFRP trunk spoiler extension could bring this back car to race car status. I'm shocked he skimped there.
