SF Bay area peeps - I got smog woes

Anyone wanna sell me a 2015 sticker? :)

Or even a decent counterfeit? I'm not going to drive it on the road (registered non-op), I just need to get my apartment manager off my back. She's being a real hard-ass about all cars needing to have current tags to park in the garage.

Even better is if someone knows a sympathetic test-only smog station. I used to know of one, but they tore down the strip mall he was located in to build some shiny new retail space.

Shoot me a PM if you have any ideas. Thanks.

A car cover doesn't help if you park on the street, your tags still need to show.

Now in OP's situation the manager already knows the car's tags aren't current, so I doubt a cover will solve the issue.

how about this. fix the car and then smog it legally.
            if cat $200
            if air leak <$50

paying for hot smog = $250

not driving an e30 = gtfo. i would cry if i couldnt take an e30 to work in the morning

I was coming here to say the same thing. Some counties/municipalities here require a vehicle to have current tags if it's simply parked outside, even if it's on your own property.

Why not look through hoa documents to see if you actually need a valid sticker to park.

As far as the DMV is concerned as long as its not on a public street the non op status is good enough.

If you don't own the property call your landlord and ask them to bitch.

I don't know what's wrong with it that's making it run bad. I'm probably the world's worst mechanic.

Years ago. As I said, it's registered non-op. I might have been able to get away with that before, but now that she knows it was an old sticker she'll probably look at it close enough to at least check the year.

It's an apartment complex. If you have ever read a lease, it contains a ridiculous amount of restrictions, the most of which are never enforced. The prior managers didn't care very much, but this new biatch (complex owned by mega-corporation) is going exactly by the rules. Our conversation went like this:

Me: Why does my car need to be current?
Her: Because old run-down cars make the place look dumpy.
Me: My car is clean, no flat tires, looks good, etc.
Her: If I make an exception for you I have to make an exception for all clean, nice-looking cars with expired tags.
Me: Why don't you do that, if your goal is to have to place looking nice. All nice looking cars should be allowed.

I guess technically. As I said I'm not going to drive the car, I'm just going to keep it parked in the parking garage, which is private property.

I'd suggest reviewing the HOA document very carefully and seeing if there are any loopholes; I have to deal with 2x HOA's and its a total PITA.

I just wrote a lease for my tennant a couple weeks ago; my condo HOA does not stipulate anything in regards to valid registration sticker; a homeowner 2 parking spots down has a 2011 or 2012 sticker!!

My Loft HOA has a stipuation for valid registration required but my deeded spot is a Handicapped and I dont have a HC plaquard.........they dont care its private property.
