Is Texas a front license plate state?

They require a plate, but it is not strongly enforced unless a cop pulled you over for something else. A d*ck cop may pull you over just for that too.

I NEVER had a license plate on my e46 & I plan on buying a license plate delete trim for my e30 soon.

On the newer cars no, and the front plate is about to not be required on any car when you order new plates every 7 years (cost savings for the state only providing one plate for the price of two).

Like stated ..you more than likely won't ever be pulled over for no ft tag but they can add after they pull you for something else .
That of course would be only if the cop is a prick ...well most of them are anyways .

I've NEVER ran a ft plate on any of my TX cars in all the years I've been driving .
Its usually the first mod I do and usually on the same day I buy a new vehicle .

Ummm, what??? You do know that the change to the law didn't go through and front plates are still required.

As for the rest of you saying it's not strictly enforced, I beg to differ. They had it all over the news down here that they were going to start pulling people over for it. Sicne then I've been pulled over 3 times. Each time they let me go because the car wasn't registered to me yet and I told them I just bought it and it didn't come with one. My wife however got pulled over and did receive a $120 ticket. her plate is back on now. :(

I havent ran a front plate in Texas in 10 years and have not been been gived a second look. Thats with us driving 1000+ miles a week. Its not even mentioned when I'm pulled over for speeding. I'll never run a front plate.

I've had a cop tell me to put one on once when I got pulled over for something else. I'd say fuck it but until I get my warrants taken care of or paid, I'll leave it on.... Besides Dallas is been fucked up lately. Fucking TABC arresting people inside bars and then you have these jackass cops in cities like Garland, Mesquite, Carrollton, Addison, Irving....
