After having a not-so-pleasant interaction with the people at express pull -n-save, I' here to ask: any other yards in middle TN. i put this in the general discussion simply because more people will see it (and because someone's going to ask what they did). So, r3v, where do you buy your cheap, local parts?

Express has a shitty attitude in general, but it's the only place that has ANY bmws right now. Pullapart didn't have anything last time I checked.Originally posted by Andy.BWhenever I am about to make a particularly questionable decision regarding a worryingly cheap diy solution, I just ask myself, "What would Ether-D do?"

This was a multiple day ordeal. First, I purchased two headunits - pulled from a Mercedes S400 and Land Rover Discovery - on a Wednesday. To be honest, I was going to resell them - I'm trying to make some extra cash to M60 swap my 1965 Dodge D100. After bringing them home, I found that they each had their own problems. So, I intended to return them for store credit. On that Saturday, I went in, and the units were marked by the attendant upon entering the yard. I picked up a foglight switch from an e30 and headed to the counter.
The day before, I had picked up a section of wire from an e34. It ran from the amp to the headunit. I took it to the register to be told that this section of wire would have cost me $61! Needless to say, I didn't buy it. When I checked out that Saturday, I asked the man working there if that price was correct. He told me that the price was wrong, and that wire there should be around $0.23 a foot. So, he took the radios, gave me store credit, and I bought the foglight switch with the credit. Since I could go back in if I wanted, I re-entered, armed with my knowledge of cheap wire. Then, I approached the checkout counter again, after removing around 25ft of wire from another e34. I got another clerk this time, who told me that it would be $31. I asked for a manager, believing that there was a computer error (I had already seen the computer system go down the same day). I was told that he was not available (They looked in the parking lot, it appeared that he had left). When I told her that I did not want it, she became very annoyed. Basically, she told me that I returned two radios that I did not buy there. I tried explaining which cars they came out of, but she cut me off. To quote her exactly,"They're not marked, so YOU DIDN'T BUY THEM HERE. Do you want the wire or not?" At this point, I told her to ring it up simply because I was done dealing with her. Also, it doesn't help that I am 17, so everyone had begun staring at me, since I was obviously trying to rip off the yard. Basically, I just don't want to go back there. If someone gives me bad customer service, I don't go back. It's that simple.
As for the returns, I could have easily proved that they came from that yard. The Mercedes unit had the anti-theft code written on the sunvisor. Just power up the unit and enter the code. Also, I had receipt. I would think that is good enough itself.
Ether - D, I believe I met you there. I was the guy looking for car phones, and you were looking for #20 something injectors.
