Because Japanese cars are more reliable / cheaper to maintain / have better aftermarket support / can usually keep the factory brake booster in the stock location with a v8 swap / don't make it look like you're an unsuccessful coke dealer? Seriously, old German cars are junk. Don't get me wrong - I love my car, but it took me way too much money and wayyyy too much time to get to the point where I love it. Much cheaper/easier to do something Japanese or 'Murican.

Decent E30s are hard to find. People with complete stock E30s are holding onto them because there is nothing else out there that drive like an E30. You want to get in the game...expect to spend money and get your elbows dirty. Actually, my advice to you is to buy the Bentley manual, read it, and convince yourself that you can handle the repairs before buying an E30.

You shouldn't buy an E30 because you can't decide for yourself what the fuck you want to do.

Get the fuck out and keep E30 prices low. I'm still looking for another sedan at the right price (I.E. trade)
