This. They're a bit expensive but these are all I use at the shop all day. They're tough enough to not rip all the time, thin enough to still be able to feel what you're doing, don't get super slippery when oily and wipe off easy.

I have 2 pairs of craftsman gloves, the mechanics and carpenter ones. Had them for over a year no problems, plus if they rip, I can get them replaced (I think). They go for 10-15 bucks on sale.

          best mechanics gloves?

I use Mechanix Wear gloves. They are what the auto racing teams use. They are thin, and a wheels just off the track just feel a little warm, only down side is they are a little more expensive, and have no knuckle protection. But I've had the same pair since 2008.

I had mechanix original gloves for about two years before they ripped.

I used them for everything, I need to get another pair.

Cheap thin ones so what ever is comfortable because I'll just replace them in month and half. At about 8 bucks a pair I can afford them plus they are a work related expense I can write off.

Thanks for the link. I often don't use gloves because I hate the loss of dexterity, but I'll give these a try!
