Jordan hates them. Evyone else thinks they are ok. They are fiberglass with a CF overlay to keep cost down. $390 seems decent but shipping is expensive.
they leave something to be desired fitment wise. First the good: It's a carbon top of what appears to be quality construction with an under structure made of fiberglass. All you stock hardware is used so it opens and closes like a stock hood, no hood pins.
The bad: the hood has several design flaws, the passenger side corner near the windshield dips down to far, the hood is not as wide as the factory hood so it has a lot of gap... and last but not least, the curve is not correct on the hood front to back so it buldges up on sides some.
You can hide a lot of the flaws using the Evo 3 hood seals, but if you're looking for stock hood quality on fitment, look elsewhere.
Don't know the exact weight savings, but it's noticable when you pick the two up, the CF hood weights next to nothing.. I believe VIS says 14 lbs.. any idea what the stock hood weights?
I've seen a few VIS hoods in person. The passenger corner up by the cowl is the part that bugs me the most. It is warped and there is a noticeable bend downward. Definitely easy to see when you can see both corners at once.
