If you car is a daily driver, I DO NOT recommend swede. I re-wrapped the wheel in my MG in swede and it was destroyed only a few months later from daily use. Alcantara/faux swede may hold up better since it is synthetic, but I personally would still go with "regular" leather.

Lambo and I took a wheel off a car without the key once. We both grabbed the wheel then turned it back and forth as hard as we could until the lock broke.

I did that to a shitty e30 steering wheel and wrecked the splines.

Infact I have a video of it here somewhere

you just need to clean the suede to bring it back but the more you use the more you'll have to care for it. wearing gloves helps a lot.

Therein lies the problem. When I re-covered my wheel, I told me self I would clean it all the time and keep it looking nice. Didn't happen. And it will get to a point where nothing will bring it back, in a surprisingly short time.

I only touch mine like once a month so I don't have a problem :)

maybe when I start delving into craft beer, wearing bowties with USA crafted denim and sport aloof looks on my face, but not anytime soon.
