In need of some m3 advice..

No, not god chariot's m3; but rather a specific e36 m3 I have my eyes on.

Looking for some insight on market pricing/ppi advice for this particular model.

Pm me and I'll share the bimmer in question.

    thanks r3v

I have nothing meaningful to add... but, I do want an E36 M3 for track duties.

      I had an E36 M3 for a while.

Worst experience I ever had with a car. Interior was very shoddy, and it ran like crap the entire time I had it.

Not everyone's experience, but this was mine.
      My previous build (currently E30-less)

It would help to know more about the car.

I am not a fan of my E36... shitty interior and electrical gremlins out the ass. The drivetrain has been reliable so far, it's just all the little things that constantly break that make me not like the car. Granted, this is a non-M i'm talking about, but the US M3 isn't much more than a swapped 325i.

yeah, received a couple pm's with some solid advice.
In a nutshell, I was advised to buy the most immaculate example of this car because it's a buyers market.

Furthermore, the findings of my research regarding the history raises a few red flags.
I was honestly just fixated by the rare color combo.

          Asking 12k
60k on new motor w/ receipts (prof install), 126k on chassis
          4 PO'S ..
          Original paint

Didn't wanna share the car earlier for exposure reasons ;)
Will most likely pass due to doubtful history and PO ebay mods.
          but dat hurricane d0e

It's actually daytona violet since this is a '95 and according to my findings; the only year it was offered.
and yeah the hurricane is fucking amazing, I really want the interior just to hoard for when I find a 1-owner m3.

may check out the car this afternoon.
if anyone is interested in buying it, I'll share the link with you.

My advice would be to take off those stupid rear lights if you buy it.

I loved my E36. Still one of the most enjoyable cars I owned. Bought at top of market though - lots have been beaten and ended up in hands of hoonclowns who think they are Lamborghinis.

I believe that's rain cloth, not hurricane. It looks to have had a PO that spend some money on it at some point; the cloth, LTW trim pieces, whatever Dinan bits it has. But the ebay tails and spray bombed LTW's have to go. Something about the painted wheels and silver wheel bolts makes it look cheap. Looks like the side markers are on backwards too.

Anyways, dark colors are super hard to spot paint work in low res pictures like that. And without engine bay shots and more interior shots it's tough to tell the actual condition of the car.

I wouldn't let the number of PO's scare you away. I'd personally be wondering why the S50 popped under 130K. Is there another S50 in the car, or an S52? If the clutch and FW were done with the swap and the car has had the suspension taken care of, that could be a pretty good candidate. That's all the high dollar stuff.

That car is screaming for a 3 spoke steering wheel. I'm personally not a fan of purple. But it looks reasonably clean.

Mine is the same colour and interior combination (but without the black vinyl door panels the U.S. cars came with), and I absolutely love it. It's extremely rare and really dates the car to the period it was made in the best way. If you really love it, it might still be worth serious consideration as you're looking at a very rare combination worldwide, let alone on these shores.

                              Who cares about color combination?

At this point a well-kept E36 M3 is more rare than any special appearance.
