What a crappy day, weather was nice but

My daily driver had a nice electrical fire today under the dash WTF damn e36's!

Why? who knows so I guess I'm gonna be parting two out this month. Just after I basically get back after being gone for 37 days. I was cleaning the car up and getting it ready when after sticking the battery back in and turning over the key smoke started coming out from under the dash and I know the smell of melting wires....

Yup melted em good. WTF something must have been chaffed or shorted out.

    Just another day in paradise.

Is it possible a mouse or rodent got in there and made a home? Maybe decided to snack on some "skittle" looking wires? Mother in laws car had that problem, given she only drove 1-2 a week. No fire, but lots of poo, insulation and stashes of bird food all up in the dash and vents.

Sucks to hear tho. Full coverage at least or it is pretty much a loss?

Not worth full coverage on a Faux M3. Car had minor issues, the entire comfort realy system was not working, IE the windows and the sunroof and the heated seats were inoperative.

I'm thinking of cannibalizing it and keeping the shell for a lemons car. The suspension is going right into our current lemon since I had only paid 600 for the car 3 years ago.

It's just another E36 so not that much of a big deal. Granted it has had M3 suspension and brakes and sways
