Autodesk Inventor

I'm taking a CAD class in school this semester and we are working with Inventor. The only problem is that the computers keep locking up in the middle of work. I spent over an hour today drawing a part that should have only taken 5 minutes just because it kept freezing. Anyone have an idea on what might be causing this? Someone else have the same problem?

I used to use Bentley Microstation as an application. But I was disatisfied with sitting behind a desk all day. So now look what I do, i sit behind the computer anyway all day.

I hate living in a hotel, it just gets old every day.

update all the drivers on the computer (video, motherboard, chipset etc)

Inventor tends to be really picky.

Also what revision are you using? update it.

Can't upgrade ram because they are school computers and the buget is already low enough.

I've updated the video driver, but not the others. I will have to try that next monday when I have that class.

Hey Jordan, you wouldn't posibly want to get me a copy of Inventor, would you? You know, as a teaching aid.. ;)

I use Inventor R6. I wouldn't mind R7 or R8 :)

What does the software retail for these days? At least $4,995.
