    Header install today

Today my friend Josh got his headers for his m20b25. And i since my auto teacher likes me lol...we installed them after school on the lift and whatnot. They are the IE headers from MSDS. They have this new design that seemed to work pretty well. But we still had to unbolt the engine mounts and lift the engine like 1.5inches to get them on especially on the front. I got lucky and my sawzall cuts on the stock system were perfect...the downpipes slipped right on. Anyway we live out in the boonies and don't have to go through deq so we had a exhaust fabbed that Y's off the downpipes into a 2.5inch pipe all the way to the muffler...no cat. And it sounds amazing. Has a nice deep rumble and then just starts to scream top end. And we can feel a difference in power. May have to dyno..... Can get some good rubber down in second now lol Anyway they sound amazing and for the price i think they are a good deal... just thought i would let u guys know.

        Adam,

Don't forget you have a steering column (a non standard one at that) in the way.

The IE headers, are not designed to clear a column on a RHD car :(

        Cheers,

        Ian.

What kind of new design do they have on them? Did they fix the problem with the sharp turn in the forward downpipe?
            Thanks.

why buy them from IE when you can buy direct from MSDS?? i havent looked at the IE page, but im assuming that they are prolly a lil more since they have to make a profit... :?:

The new ones aren't MSDS, they are fully built by IE, dunno if its in house or what probably contracted out however its there design basically they took the MSDS design and corrected the problems.
