    Shipping an Engine?

What is the cheapest way to ship an m20 engine? I am interested in buying one but buyer wants me to figure out shipping and he'll ship it out!

Greyhound has no way of loading something like that so NO, not greyhound. You'll have to contact a freight company.

              1) go to home depot/lowes and get a free pallet
              2) bring said pallet home and lay it in the back of your/your buddy's pickup truck
              3) lay engine on pallet
              4) find a trucking company close to your house.
              5) drive truck to shipping company and drop off said engine on pallet
              6) have shipping company shrink wrap it for free
              7) pay shipping company to ship said engine/pallet to the closest freight dock where engine/pallet is to be picked up
              8. have person buying engine/pallet to take their/their buddy's truck to said shipping dock and pick up engine
9)live happily ever after with said engine/pallet

              10) search the forum first in the future as there are a billion threads here already that more than cover this.

I had a motor shipped to me. Yep. Pallet and a freight company. Shop around for prices. And not all freight companies go to all the different cities. Sometimes they cover one region of the other. Here's how I got mine:

When I shipped an engine, I made sure there was no liquids in it coolant, oil etc. I put it on a pallet strapped it down, wrapped it with saran wrap, then had a shipping company come and pick it up at my house and then about a week later it was at its destination. It's fairly simple.

It will be far easier and cheaper if you can have it shipped somewhere with a dock. Residential delivery with lift gate service is going to be very pricey. If any of your friends work in a warehouse ask if you can ship it there. Shouldn't more than $200 at the very most.
