    Convertible Pricing

I was just looking around on autotrader and they have E30 convertibles with 100,000- 130,000 miles being advertised at $6,000-$7,000. Mine has 107,000 miles and just got a new steering rack, new top, and some new suspension pieces. The only problem that I would see in my car is the front drivers side seat being ripped on the left bolster. The paint looks brand new (never repainted) but maybe has a couple scratches, not to big, in it.

Is my car really worth this much? I included a pic of a car similar to mine but mine has tan interior. I picked mine up from a guy that wanted to get it out of his garage to make room for his new M so I bought it for $3,200. I have had it inspected from the Bav Auto guy in Perrysburg and nothing else is wrong with it. Also this is the first winter is has seen.

Thats what I thought, Why do you think these people think they can get almost 7 for their cars? The one for 7 is just like mine but white and has 10,000 more miles and automatic. They won't ever get that if mine is worth only 4.5

Why is that? because of the cost of the product. I have sold things on Ebay...like an XM Radio for 95.00 and things but it was like 1.70 for the add. I didn't know that the price of putting a add up was determined by the cost.

                Thanks for that info.

yeah a vehicle costs 40 dollars to put on for starters, of course you can add things to make it much more. If it sells, another 40 is charged in addition. Ive done a few cars and bikes, that was the costs a few months ago, and of course they frequently update costs so it could be more now..

People have BMWs and think they will find somebody guilible enough to pay what they're asking. If it works, cool, they just got twice what the car is worth. If it doesn't, oh well, worst case they get talked down what the car is worth.

The best advice I heard was to buy the best example you can afford. If you really want a mtech pay for a mint condition one. If you really want a regular convertible with plastic bumpers pay for that. As far was what a convertible is worth, 6-7k is around a little about avg condition. No rips in the seats, top in good condition, no leaks in top.

I have one rip in my drivers seat but the covertible top is brand new. The car is in really great condition...You think it could get that amount then? Maybe like 5500 because of the rip? Some of the numbers I am seeing are telling me that I basically got a great deal on the car. Maybe I should just keep on going with it then but will any of the things I do to it really affect the selling price I can get?

These are just questions, I am not trying to make one look wrong and the other look right. I have only sold my Audi and that was out in my dads front yard so the input is helping a lot thanks

This applies to all e30s! Owning an e30 with absolutely nothing wrong with it really is like night and day.

So mine could be worth close to 6-7 if didn't have the rip in the drivers seat? Does plastic bumpers help the value of the car or should I leave it stock to get the most out of it? I am asking the second question because I know if my dad and I changed anything with the vette it could negatively affect the price but some cars are completely different.

                            thanks

There is an 89 or a 90 for sale local. The guy wants $8k or something like that. 2nd owner with 70-80k miles and 5 speed. White on black. The guy had some "rare" gun metal center basket wheels installed from the dealer. The guy is dreaming but who knows. Spring is vert time.
