New guy in Ohio. (I included pictures so 56k be warned)

    Hello all,

Hailing in from Columbus, just figured I'd introduce myself to the masses. New to e30's as I'll be picking up a '89 325i on Friday. I'm semi new to BMW's, I got my m3 in August which is now sold thanks to friggin' taxes murdering me. :( I'm a Nissan guy at heart, my G20 is my on-going project. I'm also just starting to gain more and more interest with photography, if anyone in my area wants to meet up and let me snap pics I'm always up for it! Anyways, I guess that's it. So uh... can't wait to start readin'

Here's some pictures of the cars I mentioned above.

My g20 when it assumed the daily driver role:

Now here it is as my new track slut. (Hoping to start taking it to HPDE's and similar events). She's affecionately known as "The Sandy 'Gina". Not that I expect you guy's to care, but I'm in the process of installing a larger turbo, bigger brakes, c/f parts, and other hoopla

Here is my recently sold '98 M3/4 whom I affecionately called "The Panda", luckily it's going to a good friend of mine so I will see her a lot and get to drive her every now and then.

And one quick picture that I photoshopped of what I hope to make the e30 look like in a few months (simple lowering kit, some smilies or french hella's, and probably a reiger ABS plastic front lip for now)

If you want to see more pictures of the e30 that I'll be buying here is the link on bimmerforums.

Bimmerforums is the preferred online BMW Forum and community for BMW owners. At Bimmerforums, you will find technical how-to information maintenance specifics audio advice wheel and tire combinations and model specific details not found anywhere else. Our professionals are here to help make sure you find the answers you need to your questions and our community is here to help other brainstorm ideas for the future.

Now you must promise not to take it from me. I'm sick of driving my buddies Wrangler!

Anyways... thanks for readin'/lookin at my shit! Any comments on the soon to be e30 are much appreciated.

Welcome. Nice G20, and your e30 looks like it has great potential. Always good to have some new faces around here.

hey, welcome... I hope it all works out!

take a stroll through members rides here... there are a lot of really well thought-out and styled E30s, it takes time to get into the E30 'mindset' so-to-speak, but I think you'll really like it.

Nissan guy at heart huh... Maybe we'll get lucky and you'll do an SR20DET swap into your e30 chassis. I think those are pretty badass.

        Nice cars.

haha, eventually there is a high possibility that I'll do that or an ls1. The motor in this e30 is freshly rebuilt so I'm hoping it'll last me for a while. It would be nice to have two cars with DET power haha.

I've always been a fan of e30's and since I had to sell my e36 the e30 was the only car I looked for!

The E30 looks like a good candidate!

How are the G20's? I work at an infiniti dealer and was always curious to see what their potential was?

Gs are hot. Minus the Nissan love for BROWN interiors... ugh.

Nice wheels on the E30 and good luck with it. Good start.

Yea, I'm a 4th year Sophmore at Ohio State (took a year off and have changed major's 4 times now). I think I found the right one now though! Next quarter I'm learning how to weld and it's working towards my major.

Thanks! G20's are actually a very capable car. The weakpoint is that it's FWD and for the p10 (92-96) like mine, our transmissions are crap. A p11 (99-02) has a much beefier transmission that is proven to hold +500whp. As per the motor's, they are relatively the same thing as the 240 swaps, the only difference are the TB is on the left of the Manifold for RWD swaps, and on the right for FWD. The motor's we use are originally found in AWD car's such as the Bluebird, Avenir, and the "race' version of the AWD Det's would be the GTiR's, which have ITB's, .2:1 lower compression and a larger t-28 Ball bearing turbo. A very capable motor to say the least. Some guy on www.g20.net used to have a stock bottom end gtir swap in his p10, he daily drove it make over 500 whp (he's the guy with the p11 transmission). He beat the living piss out of it. One day his buddy reved it to 13k and it went boom. Well, I've talked too much haha, sorry about that. Needless to say they are a very good setup for a FWD car, they have a modified 300zx front suspension, and for the p10 it has independent suspension similar to the sentra's. So the handling is equally as impressive... again, for a fwd car.;)

haha, I'll be here for another year or 2. I've had the e36 down on campus basically everyday for class since I bought it. I had the g20 up here last year, but it's been torn apart at my brother's place in Cincinnati for the past 7 months, it's really hard for me to get down there and get shit done on it. I'll have the e30 up here everyday after Friday! I just got my money ready for it... can't wait!
