Where to look for the best car insurance quotes?

Alright guys so I'm 18, drive a 2-door BMW, have a 3.72 GPA, was pulled over for 49/35 in March of '01 then took traffic school in june '01, and have no more scars on my record.

Progressive.com gave me the nice quote of $2900 every 6 months. great.

I know those of you in the same age bracket as me pay less (at least some of you do anyways). What ins. co do you have, and where do you suggest I look.

nando If I remember correctly you pay an ungodly low amount.

    TIA

        I have a 3.2 GPA driving a BLACK 5spd 2 dr 325i. 1 speeding ticket, 42 on a 15. Done traffic school for it already.

The insurance is 800 for the semester. I'm using geico and I am also enlisted with my dad and his friend ( a woman ). According to Geico, women help lower the insurance because they are "safe" drivers.

..welcome to the world of a young male driver. You have a few options. Either put the title to the car under your name and list your gf as the co-owner or replace the gf with a female acquaintance or family member of choice. Have a family member register and title the car under their name and if the worst happens ... well... it happened. You can also list the car under whoever you chose and classify it as a weekend or occasionally driven car...don't forget to not tell them the mileage you drive or you will get screwed.

Try geico, your credit union or bank's insurance if they offer it.

Let us know how it turns out....

The symdom of own a BMW "Bring Money Withyou" $2900 for 6 months is insane. Almost worth risking driving without insurance but I can't say I condone that either.

I have USAA but you need to be a US Service member or family member.

Since your still 18 im assuming you still live with your rents. What I do on my pfinder is I put their name on the title for the car, even though they have nothing to do with the car. Now we have Allstate insurance and they have this option to prorate the insurance on my car cause I go to college. My parents basically told them I only drive the car about 10% of the time and thats what I pay. Ive got two tickets, both for going 82 in a 65. One I had to pay and the other I got dropped by goign to traffic school. I only pay like 300 every six months so if you dont mind putting the car in your parents name Id recomend this

Currently with my 88 325 i'm under the same plan as my rents and it's at $1900 per 6 months (Geico)

Idaho just sucks for insurance i guess.
