Not bad for 2k I'd offer like 1700. Has to many doors for me but that's whatever. Check and make sure those "small rust spots are giant ones hidden by paint or shitty body work. See if it's had the timing belt replaced as that would be the first thing to do. That car probably has closer to 200k on it. Make sure it's good enough for you mechanically but I can't stress enough of making sure that rust is bad.

Timing belt was just done along with valve adjustments and I think the head gasket...getting more pics of rust spots, front seats are rough...could I put recaro's in it? I have heard about doing it but am unfamiliar with the process/equipment and parts required....a

I believe they make brackets that allow you to put vw Recaro seats in these. You could just throw some racing seats in cause race car...

Thank you. I was shocked by the little gems I'd find on it I was just at the right place right time when I got that car. Since you've seen my thread then you probably realize why I can't stress enough to make sure the rust hasn't spread you don't want the mess I got.

Update on the e30 search...the black car I pictured before and provided the link for may be the one...I am getting more pics of the rust and specefics today. The owner sid the head gasket and timing belt were done a year ago after he bought the car...I would probaly like to check that on my own since there is no paper work on the service...How hard is engine work on these? THat is somethign fairly new to me, but I have decided that if im getting one of these bad ass rides I want to do every bit of it myself or with the help of a knowledgable friend or two...My whole though process behind buying one of these is as follows:
1) God damnit they are sexy
2) I want a DD that I can work on / build so I know every inch of the car
3) I have ample support between here a Bentley manual and old Euro Techs in my area.
4) I want a car to be proud of and that is fun to drive
5) Im young but id really love to build up a car that can be passed down through the family.
Sorry for the ramblings...:hitler:

The black one you posted seems like a really solid base and hopefully the rust isn't too bad, after seeing ThatOneEuroE30's rust I'm just scared to the bone to lift up my carpets and look, But I was in the same boat as you Chris less than a month ago. I'd been hunting for an E30 for the longest because I just had to have one for pretty much the same reasons you want one now. Now I finally have her in my garage and not a second goes by that I don't wanna just sit inside her. I hope you find the right one soon. GL and I'll be keeping on your threads
