    BMW crushes ActiveE 1 series

New cars come with a set of promises from maker to the owner that the darn things will not fall apart in a way that could kill you for at least a decade. Despite the occasional outburst of broken vows, automakers tend to take this seriously, not just because it's law. But those promises can result in some odd choices, which is how a flatbed trailer came to be filled with crushed cars that were once perfectly driveable and low-mileage BMW electric vehicles.

GM crushed the EV1 and it is still a better design than what they have available now.

There are even more butthurt comments on Jalop

Apparently. BMW didn't learn a lesson from GM: When destroying a fleet of electric cars, avoid parading their crushed carcasses on the back of a trailer for the world to see. It's just in bad taste, and former owners are reacting like it's a funeral procession with open caskets.

You know, if these people actually purchased the car and didn't just get one free to test- then I could understand. They were test cars, you knew you could not keep it forever...deal with it.
