    Car Covers

I'm looking for a waterproof car cover for my e34 535i. Needs to be lockable and hold up to decent winds. You guys have any suggestions? I'm about 3 years away from owning a garage and just bought a minty 535 with fresh paint.

Looking to spend up to $200...

Bav auto has a nice car cover. Local to you as well.

It is my understanding that unless the car/cover are completely clean more likely than not the cover will leave your car's finish more damaged than if it were uncovered as it blows/rustles in the wind.

Could be wrong. Don't know from personal experience since because of this belief I have never used one. I store my car outside and just make sure to wash/wax it as frequently as I can. So far, so good. Of course, while my car is clean I would hesitate to call it "minty."

I use my car cover to protect my interior more so than keep the sun off of the car (although it does that just as well also). I have a fitted cover, I think its a noah material and I used it everyday for a year at work and never saw any marring on my paint of marks. I made sure the cover was tight and then locked it to the car around the bottom so it hardly moved. I'm completely happy with it.

I've had both the BavAuto cover and the OEM BMW cover. I've decided I like the OEM cover better! They're pretty reasonably priced around $160. Another option would be California Car Cover but they aren't cheap!

Nice! Great price on that too. Do you use this outdoors?
