So I didn't read any of these comments or check out the site yet, but a Instant Messaging Chat option would be cool. The 2002faq has it and it's served their forum members quite well, giving people access to many minds, and the ability to solve an issue quite quickly.
Just saying, having a chatting option would be nice. And I'd happily donate to see this happen.world renown Harry Potter expert

itd be cool to be able to tag people on posts and receive a notification when youre being tagged, or when someone has replied to your post.Originally posted by dvckI'm going to say this nicely; go fuck yourself.Comment

After spending a few minutes around, I'm guessing this isn't the final resolution, but I figured I'd mention it just in case; If the width could be full screen like it currently is, that would be great.
A chat room as mentioned by others would also be great. One feature I would like to see (searched for it before, but never found it) would be the number of posts per page, from let's say 20, 30, 50, 100, 200 and all.
Also wondering if it would be possible to prevent people from quoting 10+ pictures. This can get annoying, in build threads particularly.
I'll spend some more time messing around with the beta, and will try and give more feedback.
Thanks for your time and effort, James!

I hate it, the design puts to much emphasis on trying to be bubbly and modern whereas the old style really puts the focus on the content.
I mean, we are a forum of guys who are into 25+ year old cars. You don't see us upgrading to a 2014 Honda Civic because its modern.

My only beef at this point is that the spacing between the Forums and descriptions are much too wide. There is too much space in between all the wording, and the organization gets lost within the voids
Compare
This:

To this:

The compacted ness of the original page makes for a more user-interface friendly experience IMO, and is what attracted me to r3v in the first place. I try to frequent s14 at times now that it is back up and running, but the layout just makes me physically ill
Also, separating the "most recent post" with a darker background like in the original r3v would help differentiate and emphasize certain information from others? I do not know if this is possible upgrading to the new vBulliten
Men's minds work in boxes; ergo, layout one is more desirable just based on neural-science: everything is separated and has its own place, unlike the beta as it stands now where it looks like everything is floating off on its own. If r3v truly wants (needs) to upgrade, we must accommodate the reasons why OG-r3v was so attractive over other forums in the first place.
I also say we keep the black bar headings. Those are niceComment
