    e30's value

I'm going to start by saying I'm not asking what anyone thinks one should pay for the car.

I used to drive past an abandoned e30 in the back of a gyms parking lot for a while on my way to work, but then I moved so I didn't pass it for a while and forgot about it. I went down that way the other day and saw that it was still sitting there and didn't look like anything had been done with it so I decided to stop and ask about it. Found out it was the owners car that he picked up with intentions of a drift car but never got to it. (Said owner also has a pair of 2002's and an e28 ) He said that he would be willing to sell it, the only real problem would be that he doesn't have the title and from what I can tell he didn't buy it from the last owner to actually register it, so I don't know how far that trail may lead me to get a hold of one.

So my real question is does this thing really have any worth other than a possible lemons car or parts car. The car itself is nothing special other than it is still extremely rust free and I hate to see a good chassis go to waste. It is an 86 325 eta manual 4 door. Not an ideal drivetrain but would suit what I want to find which is a cheap no frills manual sedan to make a daily driver. Here in Arkansas we don't have any registration or inspection or anything. Although no matter what you have documentation wise, if you don't have the title then they say you don't own the car. Honestly the number of cars I see drive around on a daily basis without any license plate at makes me think just get it running and go for it.

    Any thoughts

Thats the idea but is there anything that I can really do with it without a title?

Can you pr the last owner apply for a title through the state? Might be under "lost title" or something similar.

why not run the VIN to find previous owners and try to contact the last guy to own it? is not terribly hard to find people online these days... offer a hundred bucks to apply for a new title and whabam

Use it as a track car.

Don't go the track car route save the car. Do what Kaiser Soze says. buy the car and try to locate the title while your fixing the car.
