Do i have a bad oil pump?

i was driving then it bogged and died. The oil pressure light came on and stalled. Tried to start and it wouldn't turn over. Btw its my moms car (e39 touring) and its way over due for oil. Even the dipstick has black residue on the tip and its below the minimum. So i add some oil drive it for 20 minutes and it bogged and died. Could it be the oil pump?

Actually turned out to be a fuel pump

get some fresh oil in it before you put the new fuel pump in it. Cars will run damn near forever if you give them the care they require
