    Actually, I was able to get in touch with the M Registry and they indicated that:

    The E30 318is was indeed limited to the 1991 model year in North America, though production spanned from 3/90 to 4/91. A total of 9,779 examples were built: 8,837 for the USA and 942 for Canada. However, there were roughly 30,000 additional examples produced for other worldwide markets.
    8,837 cars for the U.S. is pretty darn rare if you ask me. 942 in Canada is pretty friggin exclusive.

    I still stand by the fact that the 325iC appearance package is rare enough.

    And I don't intend to drive these vehicles often anyhow. I've got a daily that serves me just fine.
