Glove box latch

k i closed my glove box the other not thinking it was going to bum out on me. anyways i get pulled over by the cops and go to reach for my licence and registration and i cant get the friggin thing open i try to jiggle it and nothing so the cop say you better get that open and prove your papers or else im going to gewt the car towed to the impowned and get some bullshit tickets which would probably be a couple hundred bucks. so with the only tool in my car a flat head screwdriver i try to pry it open figuring it would be cheaper to get a new latch and a used gbox, but no there strong basterds. so i didnt get it open and the fuck laughs and says i can go so now im just pissed. so my question is how do you open it, once its open i can do the rest myself?

I undo the bolts in the back, then pry down the front with a flathead and use pliers to squeeze the latch, it's a bitch the couple times I've done it, maybe someone else will know a different way.

My latch is all fucked up as well, I think Im going to get the non locking latch when I replace it eventually.

cant find the link but search here and at e30tech, you'll find a step by step walk through, took me like 40 minutes, you have to replace this little pos thing that breaks, its pretty cheap at the stealer.

good shit i found it and it worked now all i have to do is get the lock mechanism so it dosnt dangle there forever.
