    New to the E30

Just wanted to introduce myself, my name is Patrick. I am a new member, as well as a new E30 owner. The car is an 89 325i. I bought it with a compression issue as I wanted a fixer to save some money. Turned out to be a broken intake rocker.

Since taking the top end apart and reassembling it, I had an idle issue that seemed to be fixed when I went back and reset the valve clearance. I'm not getting any reading on my temp gauge so I still have that to figure out. I also have my oil pressure light coming on (and yes, I have changed the switch), so now I get to take the oil pan off and cross my fingers hoping it's just a clogged pickup, but I am prepering for worse news. Oh and my thermostat housing is rigged to hopefully last another 20 miles.

Anyways, just saying hi and I hope I learn a lot while I'm here. Also, I will be at Petit Le Mans this year. Anyone else still reading this headed that way in October?

Welcome and good pick up on the car. You will be quite satisfied with the '89 325i. They look good and are pretty easy to work on. Post some pics so we can check it out.

I will when I get home to a computer where I can actually do it. I can't wait to drive it though (more than I already have I should say). Is there a size limit to posted pictures? And I assume we can link from the r3v gallery to the thread?

This is really all I have for now. Car is stuck in the messy garage. Not currently picture worthy.

          The day I bought it.
