OCMD police can pull you over for about anything, I was down for Ocean City Spring Cruising weekend. Now you can't sit in the back of trucks anymore, Apparently its a new law only in OCMD, Rest of MD i guess you can still.

All the meets seem like they're planned for VW people. Also, just the names of the meets make it sound like major DBags will be attending. Doesn't sound like my cup of tea... guess I'll just talk to peeps at roses and see what's going on

its a vw/audi show, 98% of the meets will be catered towards them, especially ones listed on vwvortex.. theres plenty of random get togethers all weekend.. wawa, roses, hooters etc..

As far as I know, OC was the ONLY place here that that was at one point legal.

But yes, that's why I'm not bringing my car down. No point, and after I did literally nothing but cruise around last year and end up with $800 in fines/ 3 points I don't think I'll ever take any of my cars ever again.

There has been a statute on this for a while with MD (TA 21.1107). Depends on speed limit of roadway and ages of occupants, IIRC.

Quite possible OCMD has a more stringent code on this.

I ALMOST attended that year you did, after I saw the harassment you got, I will never be attending with any of my cars. They should move the event to some other city and watch OCMD rage over losing all the business.

It was a bit ridiculous.

I understand the first night about the exhaust, I was expecting it. But just the way he and the other 8(?) police officers that were there handled it is what annoyed me.

and the pull over on Saturday night still has me baffled.

I don't think they.... PD or town or OCMD, Inc.... would shed a tear if this car show left. Everything has a price... a cost to business. The amount of OT they shell out to patrol and keep things in order.... eh.

But what do I know.

When you got folks who are respectful.... that is how you get invited back or welcomed. Doing burnouts, underage drinking, DUI, loud music, shennanigans, illicit drug use, loitering, trespass, littering.....

I was sad to hear some stories from this year's Bimmerfest East.
