    e30 Fog light connection

Hey guys I just ordered new fog lights online for my 88' 325iX and they came with this type of connection.

Unfortunately my car just has 2 wires that seem to be a positive/ground that just connect to the fog light bulb. Is there a way to make this work or an adapter of some kind? Thanks.

hmm. my '88 ix has connectors like your new foglight assembly, looks like your previous owner has been messing with shit. Just buy a new connector at a junk yard or online and splice it in.

The plug on your new lights is a factory BMW connector. They can be bought new, but are kind of expensive. You would be better off getting some used. Check ebay, they are often listed on there.

If you want new, look up the part numbers on RealOEM.com.

Just go hit the yards, and cut the connectors off a parts car with enough wiring to splice in case.

The new fog you got has the correct port for the connection. My 88 ix has connectors just like that. Basically, its a plastic piece that clips in. Helps keep the wires sealed from the elements, so the bulb doesn't short out often. Try some of the online guys like GutenParts, BavAuto, etc. See if they can sell you the wire or just the piece that plugs into the fog light. Good luck.

E36's and E34's have these connectors all over too if there are no E30's in your local yard.
