I did a search & couldn't come up with what I am looking for. Does anyone have some pic's of a painted hardtop for the Cabrio?? I'm thinking of doing a body colored one & would love to see some examples - please!!
Jack
yes,it's a 92 cabrio mtech pkg ,i did a lot of stuff to like the obvious e30 m3 5 lug suspension swap(so i can swap wheels b/n my 90m3),swapped interior to all black,z3 steering etc...-i just pulled the motor/tranny to swap in an m50 and do a 5 speed conversion at the same time-right now the poor things on jackstands....my e36 vert is taking over my spring/summer top down chores
thanks for the compliment on the car:-) really hope the pics helped you out......the top is the factory original one.....me and my friend peeled of the "rubberized" coating then, cleaned and sanded the hardtop surface, primered and painted.it's a lot of work prepping it but, your hard work would pay off in the end.BTW; it's a thin layer of fiberglass surface-sturdy but, just go easy on the sanding....post pics soon.
have ya'll checked through the dealers to confirm its NLA. I hear the same thing about the skidplates. I just recieved my skidplate two weeks ago.
Yea, I did. Realoem.com shows they are "ended". Then I ordered some thru Crevier BMW - their computer showed "backorder" at first, then after about 10 days it changed to NLA. They also checked the regional warehouse & dealer inventory in the West Region. Part #'s are:
Front - 51 14 2 231 593
Rear - 51 14 2 251 228
It's my understanding that BMW Germany will show an item as "backorder" when they are out of stock & are going to order more. When they change their notification to NLA, I am told that means they are not going to place an order.
If your contact shows these as good #'s, please - please let me know!!
Thanks for your input,
Jack
The MTech cabby is hot. I agree the DS2s would look much better on your cabby, somehow more period correct, while the wheels you got on your e30 right now would look better on the e36. You should try the switch for a week or two, see how you like it (and post pics!).
