Is anyone else excited for this? I for one would love to see this grow into a series of events on the other 5 viable continents in the future.
I have to agree that Mick Sigworth's Evo (the one pictured) in by far my favourite car in WTAC. I'm a bit biased though because my good friends at GT Auto Garage assisted massively in the construction of the car and I was lucky enough to see it at various stages of development.
The car had an unfortunate incident in testing at QR (Queensland Raceway) the other week. One of the uprights for the rear wing failed and the boot area suffered fairly bad damage. Still 5 weeks or thereabouts until WTAC so I am sure they will sort everything out before then. I'm tipping Mick and the car for victory in the Pro/Am class.
Thats awesome. I am in contact with some folks via another forum out there, and I requested lots of aero images. I intend to rehost and share them here as well for those that are interested.
To be honest, there are a lot of cars I'm interested in, a whole lot of them. I love the almost unlimited rules in comparison to other forms of motorsport, not to mention the almost completely privateer team factor.
I agree that it is an awesome form of motorsport. The cars are certainly very fast and the aero is quite advanced.
I am good friends with Andrew Brilliant who is the owner of AMB aero. Check out some of his youtube clips with the Ender Suzuki S15. The rooster tail that thing produces in the wet is an awesome physical representation of the aero at work. Andrew also runs his own car at WTAC - his white Eclipse.
If you're interested in WTAC you might remember Nemo that won in 2012 and the all carbon R35 GTR that ran in 2012 - well my mates at GT Auto Garage tuned Nemo and built the GTR. Let me just say that it is awesome to be able to get such close access to cars like that!
I am not sure how I feel about the times that were put down on the weekend.
Don't get me wrong a 1:24 at eastern creek is fast it is in formula ford territory, but I feel cars with stupid amount of down force and 1000+ hp should be quicker then a formula ford.
