    Pricing help!!

Ok so I cant find a comparable car for sale anywhere to compare prices. But i have a clean black 87 E30 convertible with M3 bumper kit, nice redone Vadar seats, new paint, 5 speed, new top etc etc. Nice looking car but needs some work under the hood. I have a M54 3.0 sitting there just begging me to put it in. So my question is for a nice 87 E30 vert with a M54 3.0 what is a realistic number I could get for it once its done???

$5-6.5k most likely. It really depends on a variety of factors (pics would help too) including finding the "right" buyer who wants a vert at the end of convertible season. Your best bet for selling a vert is spring ... everyone is looking forward to summer then.

Yea it would most likely be a winter project anyways. Why is it that everyone on here and ebay and all the other sites listing car for 12-20k? Some with stock M20s are they just dreaming of getting that or they getting close to that. I was thinking 10-12k for a really nice vert with a M54 or am I just not being realistic?

You can ask for whatever you want. $ 12k $50k. If someone wants it the will buy it. Specially if they like what the see. Start with some nice photos dude.

By M3 bumper kit do you mean like an MT2 kit, or are you talking like fiberglass E46 replica? kinda assuming the latter...

we have no pictures to go off the actual condition, you could be at 10-12 and it can just be a waiting game for the right buyer...it is really hard to give you a price with nothing to really go off of but a swap and supposedly a clean car but i have been looking for a e30 for awhile now and everyone seems to just be asking for unreal prices for them. a car sold over here couple of months ago for 11k it was mtech 2 s52 with hard top and a bunch of extras sooo going off that your 10-12k it does seem unreal but again different places different buyer.

sorry I will have to get some pictures when I can. But take this car for instance.

Is it really worth what they are asking for?

Another question are the convertibles bringing more then coupes? I know in most other cars convertibles would bring more but coupes seem to be going for as much or more the verts

that car has been for sale forever and he started at 15k or even more dont remember, i would be surprised if he got 10k if it was manual i think a lot more people would be interested.

also i think people are more interested in coupes "is" to be specific, the verts aren't all year long people pay more for the coupes than the vets plus verts are heavier but again people highly desire verts if they have the hard top but it's easy to buy a vert these days atleast in my area.

At the $12k price point you have entered the realm of people who are looking for very original cars, or REALLY well-restored. You, of course, have your exceptions depending on what engine is swapped, how well, and by whom. Most aren't going to spend that money on cars with aftermarked seats and quick-release hubs. The performance scene is where you find that buyer, and usually, they don't want to spend that kind of money. Obviously, a car is worth what a buyer will pay and given enough time/buyers, the right one could always pop up; but judging from what you see on this forum, a $12k vert is a rare bird. The general rule is that you aren't going to get out of a car what you're going to put into it without a serious reputation for building solid cars. I'd say do it simply for the experience, but I'm dumb.

OP isn't going to get 10k unless the stars align, e30 market is getting stupid high, sell it in spring, clean and polish everything, find someone high on pharmaceuticals. Isn't florida known for crazies, old people, and doctors that pretty much hand out pills like candy?

You never get what you put into a car unless it's something special and rare.
